Tony never tired of describing the workings of Colossus to young and old. He was at ease communicating with everyone from computer novices to hard-core cryptographers.   Tony was always tinkering with Colossus - six days of the week, he was usually to be found somewhere around the rebuild.

Colossus may resemble a telephone exchange - and that's no coincidence. The original was designed by Tommy Flowers, a telephone engineer in the 1940s with the then GPO (General Post Office).   Tony with some of the fragments of information from which he re-engineered Colossus.

In July 2011, Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh met Tony and saw Colossus. The Queen had made a special request to see Colossus - and she was delighted to meet George (see below), who managed to stagger, but struggled to bow .   Tony with cryptography experts Jon Callas (left) and Phil Dunkelberger of PGP Corp, who helped kick-start a round of funding for TNMOC in 2008. The picture is taken in the Bletchley Park mansion.

Tony with George the Robot. Tony built George from a crashed Wellington Bomber in the 1950s. George was revived for Wallace & Grommit in 2010.   Tony with George, who can still shuffle but is no longer able to locate beer bottles as he once could, is a huge favourite of young visitors to TNMOC.
