Who worked in Block H

Post this page to popular social media

The Bletchley Park Roll of Honour has just been published online and a search of who worked in Block H reveals 20 names. Obviously there were many more, but these are some of the known names.

Among them is the late Roy Jenkins who went on to become Chancellor of the Exchequer in the 1970 Labour government, a founder member of the SDP and later still became Baron Jenkins of Hillhead. (Someone who should know once whispered to me that although he clearly had some amazing skills, code-breaking wasn't amongst them.)

Seventeen WRNS are listed along with a Colossus maintenance GPO person and Sgt John Jolley who worked on Balkan ciphers.

Searching under Colossus and Tunny reveals another 118 names. Many of these were also likely to have worked in Block H.
