Your chance to learn about thermionic valve technology in a one- or two-day workshop on the weekend of 14-15 October 2017.

  • learn about the first 50 years of electronics through valve history
  • handle and test valves
  • see how valves are used in amplifiers, radios and computers
  • see valves in action on a guided tour of TNMOC's historic working valve computers Colossus and WITCH.

We recommend that participants have a basic knowledge of electronics and can read an electronic circuit diagram.

There will also be a choice of four different valve project kits available for purchase,

Be Quick! A small group of five guests will be able to stay for a second day and build one of these kits themselves under expert supervision - strictly first-come first-served.

Day 1 "Chalk and Talk" £53.69

Day 2 Practical £75 plus the cost of one of the four different valve kits. Limited to five participants. The valve kits will cost between £49.99 and £99.99 in the shop, but participants on the practical day get a 20% discount on the shop price.
