The Imitation Archive: hear an Apple Mac

Post this page to popular social media

Award-winning sound artist and composer Matt Parker is at TNMOC recording the sounds of 70 years of computing as part of a new Arts Council funded project, The Imitation Archive. Here is the second soundbyte: a Macintosh SE, Apple (1987) - Disk Format And Power Off.

Matt Says: "The sound of personal computing in the late 1980s was something to behold. For such a small enclosed all in one device as the Macintosh SE, by Apple, there is a great deal of hard mechanical crunching."
