This is an opportunity for girls to explore hands on activities and our Museum, inspiring them to look to consider STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and Cyber roles in the future.

An online conference for students aged 13-16 thinking about careers in STEM. Featuring tours and talks from women working in computing.

The conference will include talks, interactive sessions and quizzes to engage participants in thinking about a career in the diverse and growing computer sector.

You can book for the whole day or for individual sessions!

9:30-9:45 Welcome and housekeeping

10:00-10:30 STEM apprenticeships with FCDO Services - Find out more about the exciting opportunities to work and train with Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office Services. Working with government-level customers in the UK and overseas, they provide a wide range of secure services, including logistics, construction, digital solutions, translation, counter-eavesdropping services, and more.

10:45-12:00 Cyber Security Quiz led by engineers from Sophos

12:15-13:00 Khaleelah Jones - Planning for your STEM Career Starting Now - is the owner and founder of Careful Feet Digital Agency, the digital marketing agency that created Dime Digital, a SaaS tool that automates social media posting and brand creation for small businesses and solopreneurs. A 2020 WomenInTech 100 winner, finalist for the 2020 NatWest everywoman awards and winner of the 2018 Next Women Pitch Competition, Khaleelah has a PhD in emerging media, an MBA and has worked in the marketing industry for over a decade.

13:30-14:00 Bukky Moyo Babajide - The Future of Tech is Female, and the future is NOW! - she is a Business Transformation consultant with over 10 years of experience delivering project and change management across various industries such as BP, LBG, Nationwide, IPSL (Unisys) Avon and others. She is the director of Crystal Options Ltd, a software development company. She is also the founder of Female Techpreneur - the go-to hub for leading ladies leveraging technology to disrupt the status quo. Female Techpreneur is a global movement that aims to help female founders launch and scale their tech startups. We offer a one-stop-shop for tech founders to network, collaborate, gain an education, mentoring and access to resources

14:15-15:00 Kim Diep -Machine Learning Interactive Workshop - Can we teach a machine to recognize a toy cat? - Kim is a Software Engineer & Tech Coach, Oxford and UCL alumna and curates content & workshops to help people engage with technology in fun and practical ways, whether they’re just starting out or looking to improve their skills at any stage of their careers. She believes that tech is interactive, so tech education should be just as fun too! She loves sharing her own journey and experiences with the community to showcase a relatable and human side to tech. She is featured in the 2020 Women in Software Power List and 2020 TechWomen100 List, which recognizes the top rising stars in the tech industry.
