The National Museum of Computing is the proud home to a Sandford Award-winning education programme that seeks to: Conserve computing history by transferring knowledge, Educate young people in current digital skills, Engage participants with interactive learning experiences and Inspire our visitors to explore the exciting possibilities of a digital future.

 
 

The National Museum of Computing is absolutely delighted to share details of our exciting programme of educational events: Digital Future Days. Collaborating with committed partners within the tech industry enables us to bridge the gap between National Curriculum guidelines and digital skills needed by future employers through specialised workshops. These events are themed by National, and International celebrations throughout the year and inspire attendees to explore tech-related careers in areas of interest.

Due to generous sponsorship, our Digital Future Days are FREE to attend OR heavily subsidised to increase accessibility. These workshops are not only open to Academic Institutions, we also welcome Home Educators. Accessible to all, we host regular Relaxed Opening Days for SEND Learners to explore our unique collection and benefit from our educational provision in a carefully controlled environment.

To help you organise your visit please download and read the notes below. Please also share these notes with all staff coming on the day so that everyone is fully briefed.

Booking Process

  1. Hover over the “Learn” menu item at the top of the page until the dropdown appears

  2. Select the “Learning Visits” page

  3. Select the age group that best applies to your learners by clicking the relevant image

  4. Take a look at our exciting educational offering to see which options will best augment your teaching (we offer both in-person and virtual workshops)

  5. Click on the green “Book your visit here!” button - above this text

  6. Complete the Google Form (please provide a minimum of 3 possible dates for your visit as we hate to disappoint)

  7. You will receive a copy of your completed form

  8. You should receive a confirmation or follow-up email within 5 working days

  9. You will receive an invoice within 10 working days of your booking confirmation*

*Please note, you can make changes or amend your booking up to 30 days before your visit without charge.

Frequently asked questions

When will I receive my invoice?

- Your invoice should be with you within 10 working days of your confirmation email

How many staff tickets are included?

- For ages 6-11 years, 2 x staff tickets are included for every 15 students booked. For ages 11+ years, 1 x staff ticket is included for every 10 students booked.

How do I change my booking?

- You can make changes to your booking free of charge up to 30 days prior to your visit. Please contact education@tnmoc.org

Do you have a risk assessment you can share?

- Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a risk assessment for your visit. However, we do provide comprehensive guidance in our Health, Safety and Risk Assessment Guidance (PDF)

Can I carry out a pre-visit before our trip?

- Absolutely! Once you have booked your visit, you are welcome to arrange a free pre-visit to see the museum where we can meet to discuss your needs and tailor your activities. Contact us at education@tnmoc.org to arrange a suitable date and time.
