The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) has announced its latest exhibition, “BBC through the decades,” to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Visitors to the TNMOC exhibition will witness the evolution of the technologies that have formed the backbone of the BBC over its history and get hands-on with the technology that made the BBC famous. Exhibition opens on the 1st October.

The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) invites families to get involved in its Summer STEM Bytes Festival, an exciting and unique celebration of all things computing. Running for over 6 weeks from Tuesday 26th July until Sunday 4th September, the festival offers a fantastic opportunity for kids to get hands-on experience in a diverse selection of computational delights.

TNMOC is kicking off two competitions for the summer targeting creatives with a passion for expression through writing and the visual arts. The Young People’s Poetry Competition asks aspiring writers to produce a piece in honour of somebody they feel deserves greater recognition, while Atari Art Re-imagined pays tribute to the pioneering artists and graphics designers who achieved that breakthrough by asking the artists of today to re-interpret a piece of classic Atari box art.

The prestigious Kids In Museums award recognise museums, galleries and heritage sites that provide a great experience for children, young people and families. It is the only museum award to be judged by families.

We’ve been celebrated for our inclusivity and diversity efforts. From holding regular Relaxed Openings that cater for the neurodiverse, to our major efforts to support girls in STEM and the free remote learning packages we have offered to hundreds of underprivileged students during the pandemic.

Join TNMOC on April 23 as it hosts a live, audience Q&A with Crispin Sinclair - son of legendary inventor Sir Clive Sinclair – and design engineers Richard Altwasser and Dr. Steve Vickers who helped bring Sir Clive’s vision to life.

Today, The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC), an independent charity, has announced the launch of its Primary School Activity Days, which provide primary school students the opportunity to take part in exciting and engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and computing workshop days for the very first time.
