The prestigious honour was formally presented on 29th September 2026, celebrating her profound impact on the museum’s growth, financial resilience, and visitor experience.
A Journey of Dedication and Leadership
Jacqui’s remarkable 13-year journey with the museum began in 2013 when she joined as a dedicated volunteer. Recognising her commercial acumen, she quickly transitioned into the role of part-time Commercial Director, where she successfully spearheaded the museum’s fundraising and marketing strategies. In 2019, she was appointed Museum Director, transitioning to a full-time capacity in 2023 to guide the institution through an era of unprecedented transformation.
Navigating Growth, Challenges, and Transformation
During her tenure as Museum Director, Jacqui expertly steered TNMoC through critical infrastructural upgrades and global challenges:
Infrastructural Upgrades: She deftly managed a major re-roofing project for the historic Colossus and First-Generation galleries between 2018 and 2019.
Pandemic Resilience: During the 2020 pandemic, her steady leadership secured vital Arts Council England Covid Recovery funding, managed staff furlough schemes, and successfully orchestrated online events to keep the museum connected to the public.
Facility Modernisation: In 2023, she landed a major Post Office Remembrance Fellowship grant, which funded the complete refurbishment of the museum’s meeting rooms, café, shop, and visitor spaces.
Leaving a Lasting Legacy
Jacqui was also instrumental in achieving the highly coveted Arts Council England Nationally Styled Accreditation, significantly advancing the museum’s organisational health and long-term financial resilience. By refreshing the visitor experience with creative pop-up galleries, expanding exhibition spaces, and fostering a deeply connected team of staff and volunteers, she has left an indelible mark on the institution.
The Honorary Fellowship serves as a testament to her exceptional service and unwavering commitment to driving public awareness of global tech heritage.
